Are we really half way through the year??? I’ll just quietly go have my mid-year crisis now…. But given that the month is up I thought I’d not just let it slip by without doffing my hat to it, as per, so here’s my first ever wrap up!
I’m sort of making this up as I go along and have decided I’ll first talk about my posts with my top four posts this month! Just in case you’re wondering these aren’t selected in any scientific way, just ones I’ve enjoyed writing, chatting to other bloggers about and just generally having sit on my homepage.
- 10 Series I really Should get Back To – I may suck at finishing series(es??) but apparently do quite a good job at writing about not finishing them! This one had the most views this month and was really fun, although a little guilt inducing, to write!
- Mid Year Freak Out Tag – Might have nearly made me hyperventilate (because, hello, mid year?? Since when…?) but it was fun looking back on books I’ve read in the first half the year and drooling over upcoming releases.
- My review of The Exact Opposite of Okay – a fun read and great to write! I spoke to a lot of bloggers through this post, swapping recs and comparing notes which was great π
- 10 Things I Consider before I DNF a Book – Am I the only one who considers proximity to their next read when deciding if I’ll DNF a book…? A short list of 10 things that effect my DNF reading habits.
And now on this totally well planned wrap up I’m going to list blog posts I really loved this month! (Really wish I had taken notes throughout the month and not just decided to write this today…)
- A review of The Beasts Heart on Hung Up on Books – I tried to win this proof by slow dancing (badly) with my friend at YALC and was quite interested to read how the proofs turned out! It’s clear our slow dancing would have been in vane given what this blogger said!
- Spring Cleaning Book Tag over on My World of Books – I started following Safi after we swapped recs over on my blog and found this tag hilarious– especially when she said she’d use Allegiant to help make dinner!
- Mid Year Freak out Tag at Another Book in the WallΒ – I enjoyed this post so much I attempted the tag myself!
- Why I don’t Believe in Guilty Pleasures on Book Lovers Blog – Because yes, read what you like! The post was well written and not an angle I’d really thought about before given my books aren’t usually considered ‘guilty pleasures’- I feel thats more of a romance thing?
Here are four things I did this month that I really enjoyed. Just in case you wonder what I do when I’m not sitting behind a screen.
- I left my home of three years! Having finished my degree I left my university city for the last time and it was quite sad given how at home I felt there.
- I went to Brussels! Me and my friends took the Eurostar to Belgium (which was the cheapest place we could get to on the Eurostar at just Β£30) and it was brilliant. We saw pretty buildings, visited an underground middle aged street and I ate so much chocolate that I felt ill- all in all, a pretty great trip!
- My house and I went on a road trip up to the North(ish) and visited Warwickshire! We couldn’t afford Warwick Castle, sadly, but had lots of milkshakes and much banter.
- I went on another (smaller) road trip to visit two of my friends where much bacon and pizza was eaten and more banter was ensured. It was very sunny and we spent the whole weekend picnicking in the park and chatting.
Because next month is going to be super exciting on my blog here are four things happening in July that I’m looking forward to!
- YALC! It’s Young Adult Literacy Convention in London next month and I’m super excited to meet authors, eat sugar and fangirl to the extreme!
- I’m participating in my first ever group read (hopefully…). I’m going to attempt to participate in aΒ Children of Blood and Bone readathon because it’s something I’ve been meaning to read for YALC and would like to give a readathon a go!
- Graduation! I’m officially finishing my education by picking up a pretty piece of a paper from a fancy guy in a nice gown and I can’t wait.
- The World Cup! I don’t normally like football but for some reason The World Cup is different? I’ve been enjoying watching the matches so far!
And there we go! A wrap up! It might have seemed a little scatty and I may have winged it a little but hopefully this is somewhat like what a wrap up is usually like? If you have any posts from June you really liked (including your own!) please share! And tell me about all the exciting June activities you’ve partaken in π
Ahh so excited for YALC! Much fangirling and food eating and book buying shall be done, it’s gonna be great. Umm let’s see, aside from seeing you and Zoe (so much fun!), I have read many books, watched way too much Netflix and been to France, not bad really! Thanks for including my post as well π

WOW. The organization of this post is just absolutely goals. I really enjoyed the section of 4 things you did this month outside of reading, as in this community I feel that people forget there are plenty of other things going on besides books and reading! I also enjoyed the links to other posts you loved, looking forward to checking out your post recommendations π
