Fall tbr Update

Hello all, hope you’re having a great Tuesday! I’ve taken a break from my NaNoWriMo, which is at 926 words, not exactly on target but oh well, to write a Top Ten Tuesday! Also if you’re doing/have done NaNo, how on earth do you keep up?! And writing that much in so short a time, I’m finding it very tricky 😣

This week’s topic is backlist, but I thought I’d revisit an old list, my Fall tbr, and see how well or not well I’m doing!

1. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas ✔️

I succeeded! Yep, I polished of this one last month I want to say? It was not as amazing as I was hoping, but I still enjoyed it! You can read my review here.

2. The Railway Man by Eric Lomaz ✔️

I’ve read this! It was startling, shocking and amazing. It’s message is so important and I definitely recommend this novel.

3. The Raven King by Maggie Steivfater ❌

This list was going so well. Sadly, Gansey and friends continue to be Welsh kingless in my mind.

4. A Gathering of Shadows by VE Schwab ❌

I still keep putting it off for its brick like tendencies 😬 hopefully I’ll pick this novel up soon.

5. To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo ❌

I am so excited for this novel. It sounds so good and I am just as sad you with my failing to read it.

6. Magnus Chase and The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan ✔️

I’m currently reading this! And as I’m over half way through I think I definitely deserve a gold star for this one!

7. Hero at the Fall by Alwyn Hamiliton ✔️

We’re on a role with the ticks! I read it, loved it, and am completely gutted to have finished this incredible series. Definitely one of my favourite series ever.

8. The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon ❌

Ok, yes, I am still failing on this account. I will get round to reading this one it’s just not my most anticipated read.

9. Alex and Eliza by Melissa de la Cruz ❌

A read with a deadline. I intend to read this novel before I go see Hamilton in February. Also Hamilton 😍

10. Rose Under Fire by Elizabeth Wein ❌

It’s sitting on my shelf glaring at me. I’m sure I’ll read this exciting, plane related read soon!

Lets Compare Notes

Have you read any of these? Are they on your tbr? How are you doing with your tbr? Would love to hear from you in the comments, and feel free to drop your list by!

  1. Well, my TTT consists of books added to my tbr back in ’15 and ’16 so that says enough about how I’m handling my tbr, LOL – I should be ashamed haha. There’s like 200 physical books on my shelves right now, waiting to be read…

Curious to see what you’ll think of the Throne of Glass books when you’ve read all of them 🙂

And I’m really excited to see what you’ll think of To Kill a Kingdom! I think it’s a fantastic read, hope you’re going to love it as well.

I’m really curious about the Magnus Chase books. Got book 1 last year and still haven’t read it yet, sigh. But I’m really excited tho!

And Hero at the Fall by Hamilton is amazing I think. I love that trilogy so so much!!! It’s definitely one of my faves as well. Could’ve easily read 2 more books in the series about these amazing characters, le sigh.

    1. Haha no it’s fine, take your time and enjoy them when you feel like it! Yeah I’ve heard they get better, did you find the first one a bit naff too? Ah I’m so excited to read To Kill a Kingdom! You should read Magnus Chase they’re so funny. Ah me too! Definitely one of my favourite series, I love the writing style 😍 thanks for the long comment!

  2. Great twist on this week’s topic! I should probably keep track of how well (or not) I make my way through my TBRs, too.

  3. I still have books I want to read from when I first started blogging back in 2012 – I’m super behind haha!

I really want to read To Kill a Kingdom; I’ve heard such good things.

  4. The Raven Cycle is among my backlist books for the week, but not my TBR. I’m actually doing pretty well on that:

    Wildcard – yes
    Addicted to Outrage – yes
    The Mortal Instruments – yes
    Legendary – yes
    Muse of Nightmares – yes
    Fawkes – yes
A Thousand Perfect Notes – no
Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn – no
Children of Blood and Bone – no, but I need to read it in the next couple of weeks because its in my Kindle from the library
My True Love Gave to Me – no, but I’m not planning on reading that until the beginning of December.

So I might actually get them all ready by December 31st!

  5. I suspect you’re doing a LOT better on your seasonal TBR than I ever do. I rarely, if ever, read more than 1/2 of the TBR books I post, but I do still really like this Top Ten Tuesday topic, and always put the seasonal post lists together. Just because. Best of luck with your NaNo novel and TBR! 🙂
