2019 Releases I’m Excited for

I’m having a terrible day, and it’s only 7:46 am in the morning… I accidentally grabbed the tuppleware containing defrosting pork steaks instead of my lunch from the fridge this morning and they’ve leaked raw meat juice all over my notebooks, jeans and signed copy of A Gathering of Shadows 😭

But there is one redeeming feature. It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s time for a fun listy post and hopefully some cheery book chatter to take my mind of the fact that I’m going to walk around the office smelling like a butcher and morning my signed book. So, on with the exciting releases!!

1. Children of Vice and Virtue

I am so excited for this novel 😍 Children of Blood and Bone was simply amazing and I can’t wait to dive back into Zelie and Amari’s world.

2. On the Come Up

I will read anything by Angie Thomas, The Hate U Give was excellent and I can’t wait to dive into her next novel.

3. Priory of the Orange Tree

I’ve put this one on here but I’m not totally sure I’ll read it 😬 it’s just a bit big, and despite loving the author and dragons I don’t know if I can commit to this epic…

4. Paper and Hearts Society

Again, a novel I’m not sure if I’ll read or not, I follow Lucy on Twitter and have seen her get increasingly excited for her novel. Although it’s not something I would normally read, I’ll probably give it a go!

5. Once and Future

This sounds so funny. It’s an Arthurian legend retelling from the perspective of a teenaged girl and the blurb sounds hilarious.

6. Enchantee

I heard about this one from my friend and it sounds amazing. Historical Paris? Yes please.

7. We Hunt the Flames

There’s so much hype about this on Twitter, I think I’ve got secondary hype. It sounds really good and I only hope the people of Twitter are not wrong!

8. Chain of Gold

Another year means another release from Cassandra Clare. I sort of lost touch with the Shadowhunters a little while ago and so many have been published since that I never really caught up. Maybe this will be the release that gets me back into their world?

Lets Compare Notes

So there you have it! A slightly shortened list of 2019 releases I’ll be looking out for. Which releases are you most excited for? Did you make a list? Feel free to share your link or opinion in the comments section! Could use all the book chatter today 😭😭

  1. Great list! I need to read Children of Blood and Bone really soon, and Priory of the Orange Tree made my list this week, too. I hope your day gets better – pork juice all over your things does NOT sound fun!

  2. I’m having the same thoughts about β€œPriory of the Orange Tree.” Hopefully, it will be made into a TV series or movie!

  3. Oh no! I’ve grabbed the wrong container out of the fridge more times than I care to count, but haven’t ever had a situation like yours. UGH! Hope your day gets better.

Once and Future sounds like a great book! I love anything Arthur-related.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

  4. Yes, you have to read Enchantee, I’m reading it at the moment and it is definitely as good as advertised! I’m really excited for the second Children of Blood and Bone and Priory as well, and We Hunt The Flame sounds great. I can’t decide if I want to read The Paper and Hearts Society or not, I think Lucy’s great but I’m not sure if it sounds like the kind of book I’ll enjoy.

      1. Yeah I am as well, I’ve been following Lucy for a while, so I guess I just kind of what to see what her writing is like. I might see if it’s available on Netgalley closer to release, that way I don’t need to feel too bad if I don’t like it.

  6. We Hunt the Flames is on my list too!
And I’m intrigued by Once and Future also! (Honestly, the show Merlin has gotten me hyped for anything that mentions King Arthur)

And ahhh, so sorry to hear about your pork steak dilemma! I hope your luck has gotten better throughout the day. ❀

  8. Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear about the rough start to your day. I hope it got better!
Both Once and Future and Enchantee sound really good! it was difficult only picking 10 books for this list. I’ve been out of the loop for so long that everything sounded good. Awesome list! πŸ™‚

    1. It’s ok, I’ve stopped my book smelling of pork so it’s looking better. Don’t they just 😍 so many great reads out this year! I know! I went with a slightly shorter list because I always get super hyped but never seem to actually polish off all these new releases, hopefully this year though…

  9. I’m sorry you’ve had such a bad day 😦 Thank goodness you have something to look forward to. TTT fun can really turn around not-so-great days, can’t it?

I’m not much into YA fantasy, but ENCHANTEE looks amazing. I’ve seen it on lots of lists today. I really hope it’s as good as it sounds.

    Happy TTT!

    1. Aw it’s alright, I have enjoyed chatting books at least! Oh yeah, and because I know however busy I am I plan to post on Tuesday it gives me a nice break on stressful weeks.
Fair enough, do you like adult fantasy? I have read some of those and they’re quite good, so can recommend πŸ˜› I’m so excited for Enchantee! Thanks for leaving your blogs link 😁
